2010 SCCA Scholarship Program to Award Two $1000 Scholarships


The South Carolina Cattlemen’s Association will fund one $1,000 scholarship to a
college student whose intent is to pursue a four-year degree in a curriculum of applied
agricultural sciences (major codes 100 at Clemson). The scholarship applicant must be an
active member of the SC Cattlemen’s Association or the child or grandchild of an active
SCCA member. Applications will be considered in the following areas, in order of
importance: 1) agricultural background and related activities, 2) scholastic achievement and
3) financial need.

The SCCA will also directly fund a $1,000 scholarship to a college student whose intent is
to pursue a four year degree, with no restriction on the field of study. The applicant must be
an active member of the SCCA or the child or grandchild of an active SCCA member.
Applications will be considered with emphasis on the following areas, in order: 1) scholastic
achievement, 2) financial need and 3) agricultural background and related activities.

2010 Scholarship Schedule
April Scholarships announced in “The Carolina Cattle Connection”
and copies mailed to local association presidents and county
extension offices.

June 1 Completed applications due.

July 1 Selections made and winners notified.

***All scholarship winners will be recognized at the SCCA Annual Conference.
