Greetings from the South Carolina Cattlemen's Association. I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year. It's time once again to plan the SCCA annual conference. It will be held on May 14 and 15, 2010 at the Madren Center in Clemson, SC. This year's conference will focus on how we as cattlemen in the Southeast can add value to and market our cattle effectively. We will attempt to educate producers through educational sessions presented by Clemson Extension agents, Dr. Curt Lacy from the University of Georgia, and other guest speakers to be announced later. The conference will begin on Friday, with the trade show opening at 4 pm. The educational seminars will be held on Saturday throughout the day. On Saturday evening, Mr. Colin Woodall from the NCBA will share with us what is going on in Washington concerning the cattle industry. We will enjoy a steak dinner and the entertainment for the evening will be Baxter Black, cowboy poet and storyteller. Baxter is a DVM from Arizona that can frequently be seen on RFD-TV. The cost for the conference will be $60 per person. We have a section of rooms blocked off at the James Martin Inn (inside the Madren Center) for the weekend at a cost of $99 per night.
